Guided Discussion of the Johnson Museum of Art Collection

Join artist Sandy Rodriguez in conversation with Professor Ananda Cohen-Aponte, Professor Ella Maria Diaz, Professor Jolene Rickard, and curator Andrea Inselmann at the Johnson Museum of Art for a spirited discussion of works of art in the collection that address issues of migration, displacement, and place-based knowledge from a variety of cultural perspectives. Works that will be temporarily placed on view include Enrique Chagoya’s (Chicano) El regreso del canibal macrobiótico, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith’s (Salish and Kootenai) Horse Sense, Rirkrit Tiravanija’s (Thai) The Map of the Land of Feeling, and numerous ceramic vessels from pre-Hispanic Mesoamerica and the Andes.
